Some healthy changes – Algunos cambios sanos

Of course new year, new resolutions, new aims…etc as if we couldn’t do that anytime during the year that preceded! its funny but I guess it is psychological, in my case I feel 2014 has been a bad year so I leave it all behind and now I start been more healthy, more active, more conscious…bla bla bla well lets see how long it will last me ūüėČ

Nuevo ano, nuevas metas, promesas que nos hacemos, …etc como si no las pod√≠amos hacer el ano que ya paso! es muy gracioso pero supongo que es algo¬†psicol√≥gico, bueno en mi caso lo es; le digo a mi misma como el 2014 ha sido un ano tan malo pues lo dejo atr√°s y empiezo a ser mas sana, mas activa, mas consciente…bla bla bla bueno ya veremos cuanto me dura la tonter√≠a ūüėČ

All the traveling, the waking up at 6 am every morning, work, cooking, family, the hectic life basically. I have been changing a couple of things specially in the mornings just so that I have more energy and feel less tired throughout the day. 

Todos los viajes, levantarse cada d√≠a a las 6, el trabajo, hacer la comida, familia, en fin la vida cotidiana. He estado cambiando algunos h√°bitos comunes especialmente por las ma√Īana solo con el fin de tener mas energ√≠a y sentirse menos cansada ya durante el d√≠a.¬†

A good mediterranean as I am, I have been drinking Mint tea or herbal infusion tea forever with white bread sandwich for breakfast, there is something about bread I just cannot live without pooofff. Unfortunately, in the past 4 months I have been suffering from a very bad bloating problem and no matter what I do it doesn’t go away unless I starve myself to death!! And since starving myself is not an option and also living without Chocolate or reducing on chocolate is also not an option, I decided to change other stuff and throughout that, it is starting to get better.

Como buena mediterránea, siempre tomaba un tee y una bocata por las mananas para desayunar, la verdad es que no puedo vivir sin pan pero en fin. Desde hace 4 meses sufro de un hinchazon en la barigua que no se me quita solo se me mato de hambre!! Y claro como eso y vivir sin o reducir el consumo del chocolate pues decidí cambiar otros hábitos, que parecen mejorar mi estado bastante. 

To start with:  Instead of tea or herbal infusions I changed to Warm water with lemon & honey (pure honey). I read apparently that there are some ingredients in some teas that cause bloating. I occasionally have a warm infusion of pure mint the dutch style. 

Para empezar: En vez de tomar Te o infusion he cambiado a agua caliente con limon & miel (puro). He leido que aparentemente algunos ingredientes en el te causan hinchazon. Eso si de vez en cuando si que tomo te de menta pura al estilo holandes.

Mid Morning: I have switched my bread sandwich to either Muesli with milk, Muesli with these popular healthy juices where you put all the veggies and fruits inside. Or something am loving right now layers of Muesli and different flavours of yogurt. Looks beautiful and taste really good, specially if you are a milkproducts lover like myself. Here in Holland there are so many options.

Media ma√Īana: He cambiado mi bocata por muesli con leche, Muesli con zumos de verduras y frutas que tan populares estan ahora. O lo que mas me gusta hacer ahora es capas de diferentes gustos de yogurt y Muesli, se ve bonito y sabe fenomenal y mas si te encanta los productos lacteos como en mi caso. Aqui en Holanda hay tantas variedades.¬†

Other than the above: I am maintaining a 30 mins training on my cross trainer at home, every single day unless I am really tired or sick. And have added supplements of Cranberries to my diet. (not that am following a specific one, just normal eating, and more veggies). The only issue I have with them is that the pill is huge, I think of course!.

Aparte de lo de arriba: Estoy muy constante con 30 mins cada d√≠a en el cross trainer en mi casa, solo no lo hago si estoy cansada o enferma. Y ultimamente he enterado nuevos vitaminas en mi dieta (no siguo una dieta especifica solo comiendo como siempre solo mas verduras). El √ļnico problema que tengo con estas vitaminas es el tama√Īo! son enormes.

And lastly: Just wanted to mention that I have realised lately that there is something I always look at and I always have with me and I have been taking it around with since the age of 16. So you understand and don’t think I am some kind of weirdo or freak. I was a premature baby and honestly most of my childhood memories always involve a hospital or a doctor of some kind and this is why I grew up hating medicine, doctors and everything related to it but instead always always reading and searching on alternatives to curing yourself either with food or herbs or oils…etc. And there is a little book that I have been carrying around forever it even goes with me on holidays, went with me to China when I moved to live there for 3 years and now it is with me in Holland. Unfortunatelly I only have it in Spanish and I don’t think there is an english version of it but it is different simptoms & diseases that we all have like headache, cellulite, pms…etc and it just gives an explanation of what food you should be eating and what food you should be avoiding and I just absolutely love it. It is getting old so I should probably try to find a new version of it. Actually originally I got it for free in a magazine I bought I think it was Marie Claire Spain edition and it came as a present with it. Its just such a nice memory of my childhood and how anti-medicine I was and still am.¬†

Y para acabar: Solo quer√≠a mencionar que hay un libro que llevo conmigo desde que tengo 16 anos; obsesionada con todo lo que dice y cada vez que tengo algo como, inflamaci√≥n, dolor de cabeza, menstruaci√≥n…etc tiene remedios de abuela y indica tambi√©n que comer y que evitar. Y la¬†raz√≥n por eso es porque de¬†peque√Īa pase la¬†mayor√≠a de mi infancia en hospitales o con medicos…etc y por eso odio todo ese mundillo y me gusta mas curarme si puedo con comida, hierbas…etc. Y la verdad este libro lo llevo conmigo vaya donde vaya. Hasta se ha mudado conmigo a China durante 3 anos y ahora se ha mudado conmigo a Holanda tambi√©n, si no lo tienen buscarlo no lo lamentaran. Estoy yo misma buscando una nueva edici√≥n talvez la haya, no lo se, si alguien lo sabe por favor indicarlo aqui abajo o mandarme un email. Es muy gracioso ya que originalmente no lo he comprado pero lo he obtenido como regalo a los 16 anos con la revista Marie Claire creo o otra revista con la que venia. Solo algo curioso de mi d√≠a d√≠a.
